Oral Health In Child Care 2.0

Date: Wednesday June 14th, 6:30 – 8:30PM

Location: JCHD – Arnold: Lower Conference Room

Course Description:

Providers will learn about the importance of oral health in infants and young children, including how to provide oral care in child care, how to identify abnormal oral conditions, what to do in a dental emergency, and ways to promote dental health in their facility.

Social and Emotional Approaches to Learning 1.0 and Separation Anxiety in Children 1.0

Date: Wednesday July 12th, 6:30 – 8:30pm

Location: JCHD – Arnold: Lower Conference Room

Course Description: In this session, providers will first develop a better understanding of social and emotional learning and learn how to individualize their approach in teaching and interacting with children by increasing their knowledge and understanding of feelings and behaviors exhibited by children. Following that, they will acquire an understanding of and skills to assist with young children experiencing separation anxiety.

*This session will consist of two 1-hour trainings that supplement each other

Building Resilient Children in a Child-Care Setting

Date: Wednesday, August 9th, 6:30 – 8:30PM

Location: JCHD – Arnold: Lower Conference Room

Course Description: Participants will be more aware of how trauma can have long term impacts on children. Through the course participants will have a better understanding of the importance of: 1) modeling healthy relationships 2) teaching self-care 3) making healthy connections and 4) utilize resources to empower resiliency in the child care setting
