The Accountant position will be a trusted member of the Jefferson County Health Department fiscal team. This exempt position will report directly to the Comptroller and is responsible for providing financial support for a multi-office non-profit organization. Duties include but are not limited to general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, payroll support, account reconciliations, financial report preparations. Strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills are required. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail is needed.


The Public Health Nursing Supervisor (PHNS) is an advanced public health nursing position responsible for managing staff, overseeing patient care and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.  The position is charged with assigning staff and monitoring their activities, recruiting and training new personnel and serving as an interface between clinical staff, patients, community members, and agency administration. This position requires advanced public health nursing experience with individuals, groups, agencies, care providers and community groups working to assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced based programs and projects.


This is professional and technical work in promoting community environmental health and in the implementation of environmentally influenced public health laws and regulations.

An employee in this class conducts field inspections and evaluations concerning the application of public health practices designed to prevent disease and promote environmental health, life safety and consumer protection. The employee works under the Environmental Supervisor and is responsible for the accurate performance of assigned duties with considerable independence, subject to periodic review of work in progress and upon completion.
