CDC Week 16 Epidemiological Analysis: (from JCHD Epidemiologist, Sara Wilton)

We had a 49% decrease in cases over the past 7 days. This decrease in cases was enough to put us into yellow status. Our percent positivity for week 16 was 5.83% which is also classified as yellow according to the White House methods.

The only red you will see on the color chart for Week 16 pertains to our number of PCR tests. The total number of PCR tests was about 50% less than the number of PCR tests that were performed 3 weeks ago. As always, testing is highly encouraged to anyone who may have been a contact of a positive case and helps significantly with disease surveillance and control in our community.

The percent of fully vaccinated residents continues to rise, with 16.56% of the total population of Jefferson County having completed the full Covid-19 vaccination series. Over the past month, the percent of fully vaccinated residents has increased approximately 2% each week.
