What is Hepatitis A?
Hepatitis A is a disease of the liver caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV)
HAV infection usually causes a mild, short-term illness
HAV is contagious and spreads through close person-to-person contact and eating contaminated food or drink
Vaccination is the best way to prevent infection

Men who have sex with men
People with a history of substance abuse
People currently homeless or in transient living
People in correctional facilities
People with underlying liver disease
People in close contact with any of the above
