CDC Week 44 Epidemiological Analysis: (from JCHD Epidemiologist, Sara Wilton)

This week the county remains in the RED/highest transmission level with a weekly case count of 365 confirmed and probable cases and a positivity rate of 8.43%. Our weekly case count increased slightly from last week, but the percent positivity decreased. We reported 110 youth cases in week 44, accounting for 30% of all weekly cases.

Our total percentage of fully vaccinated individuals is 43.95%. Of the 365 new cases that were reported for week 43, 78.1% were unvaccinated. Recently, most of the COVID vaccines provided in the county have been 3rd or booster doses.

As the holiday season approaches, JCHD encourages individuals to follow respiratory illness prevention measures. These include frequent handwashing especially before eating or serving food, wear a mask, communicate with friends and family about the safety precautions you are taking, and get vaccinated against the flu and COVID if possible.
