The Chest Clinic is available to evaluate and treat
uninsured persons with Tuberculosis
disease or infection.
Dr. W.M. Breite
M.D. is on staff at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and is a specialist in Pulmonary
and Critical Care Medicine.
Patients who need a chest x-ray are referred to the
X-Ray Imaging Center located on the JMH campus. It is the patient’s responsibility
to have their chest x-ray done and reports in hand or faxed to the Health Department
PRIOR to their appointment with Dr. Breite.
Patients are seen by appointment only. Chest Clinic
is held once a month in which the patient is then evaluated by Dr. Breite.
Anti–tuberculosis medications prescribed by Dr.
Breite are filled by the Health Department through a State contracted pharmacy.
Medications are sent to the Health Department of your choice for pick up. Jefferson
County Health Department dispenses medication Monday through Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm.
No appointment is necessary to pick up your medicine.
Patients on anti-tuberculosis medicine are seen for
a minimum of two additional visits, usually after two months into therapy and one
final visit upon completion of medication. Standard minimum therapy is presently
Six months.
There is currently no charge for your office visits,
medications, lab work or your chest X-ray through JMH Imaging Center.
