Inspection of Lodging Facilities

Lodging facilities are inspected by the Jefferson County Health Department for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Inspectors check facilities for conditions that may endanger life safety, for the sanitation of the factility, and to ensure that the lodging facility has had an annual fire and/or building inspection.

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services licenses the lodging establishments in Jefferson County and has enforcement authority under the Missouri Lodging Regulation. The Jefferson County Health Department has authority over and licenses the food service that is conducted within the lodging establishments.
