Dental Education

• Too many children lack access to dental care, which is a critical component in achieving good overall health.
• Children from low and modest-income families are at risk for tooth decay.
• Left untreated, tooth decay causes unnecessary pain, infection, and low self-esteem due to poor appearance.
• Untreated dental problems typically get worse and ultimately cost more.

K-12 Oral Health Education Curriculum:

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services offers oral health education powerpoint presentations designed specifically for Kindergarten-High School Seniors. These presentations can be used by school health nurses or teachers, as well as by other health care/child care professionals, in conjunction with their health curriculum.
